Melichar is a supporting character in Kingdom Come: Deliverance. He was a citizen of Merhojed, and the unofficial, self-appointed bailiff of the town.
Biography[]
During Questions and Answers, Henry learns that Melichar took over the running of the village after the death of the Neuhof stud farmer, Smil. Although it is uncommon for a subject to give orders, Sir Hanush has not had the chance to appoint a new vassal, and Melichar is well respected, especially after he successfully fought off the bandits.
Henry will need to speak to him about interrogating the prisoner, but he is too preoccupied with Pestilence. He seems resentful that Sir Radzig left Merhojed undefended in order to wipe out the bandit camp at Pribyslavitz, but is more focused on finding a cure for the plague, especially as his wife is sick with a fever. He will advise speaking to Matthias, and to Johanka over at the Sasau Monastery, in the hopes that she might be able to help.
Henry can attempt to browbeat him into letting him speak to the bandit captive, but he will refuse until Henry goes to the monastery - in any case, the bandit is also suffering from the plague and is delirious, so you will need to find a cure before you can get any sense out of him.
Once you return with the cure, if it is the correct one and delivered quickly, then Melichar will praise your skill and offer you a reward that the villagers have scraped together. If, however, Henry failed to determine the cause of the pestilence, or delays in bringing the cure to Merhojed, some or all of the afflicted will die, and Melichar will forlornly say all he can do is drink away the pain, or go on a pilgrimage.
If the brigand died in the plague as well, Henry will need to speak with Melichar to determine what happened to his body.
