Mail collar is an armour item in Kingdom Come: Deliverance. It is categorized as head chainmail.
Description[]
The chainmail collar or mantle, called a pixane, protects one of the combatant's most vulnerable body parts - the neck. It is usually worn as a component of mail armour and with a helmet not fitted with an aventail, though it's also sometimes worn by lightly-armoured soldiers over a gambeson without other body armour.
How to Obtain[]
- Very commonly found on low level bandits, guards, and Cumans.
- In very easy chests in Talmberg castle's guard tower (accessible via the walkway) or the weapon storage on the nearby battlements (climb the stairs near the gate and make a right)

- Historical Accuracy: As suggested by the description, mail collars were used by less equipped soldiers, though they were also ubiquitous among knights and other heavily armored warriors. Contrary to what is suggested however, those who wore a helmet with an aventail would often still wear a collar underneath for an additional layer of neck protection - this can be especially important against projectiles which may otherwise pierce the aventail on its own.
