Jan "Birdie" Ješek is a characters codex entry in Kingdom Come: Deliverance.

Henry III of Pirkstein, also called Jindřich III of Pirkštejn, or Sir Jeschke, is an mentioned-only character in Kingdom Come: Deliverance. He is the father of Hans Capon.

Biography[]

He is the father of Sir Hans Capon, whom he presumably fathered quite late in life, as he had already been ruling Honcovice for forty years before his son's birth. He was the Lord of Rattay until around 1388, when his relative Henry of Leipa took over ruling the city on behalf of Hans, who was little more than a baby.

According to the guard, Nightingale, the Lord of Pirkstein retired to Moravia before his death, and Hanush's codex states that he died in 1402, a year before the events in Kingdom Come: Deliverance.

He was survived by his wife, Hedvika of Dauba who, according to Sir Hanush, was still living in Polná in 1403.

Jan Ješek, father of young Lord Jan Ptáček (Hans Capon), was a Moravian lord. In 1349 he became lord of the Honcovice estates, in 1356 Lord of Polná Castle, which he acquired in exchange for Sloup Castle (Perkenstein), and in 1369 Lord of Rattay (Rataje) where he built a new parish church and renamed the lower castle Perkenstein (Pirkštejn). His son John was still a minor when he died, so the property was administered by his relatives. It did not pass back into the hands of the rightful heir until 1412. Ješek was the first of the Lords of Leipa to hold the moniker "Birdie" (Ptáček).

Notes[]

  • There appears to be some confusion regarding dates. In Hare Hunt, Henry of Pirkstein is mentioned to have died around 15 years earlier, necessitating Henry of Leipa's journey to Rattay to assume control while Hans is still a baby, placing him at Talmberg where Hare is framed for murder. However, the codex for Hanush states that Jindřich III of Pirkštejn died in 1402, a year before the events of the game. During Keeping the Peace, Nightingale describes Jeschke as having retired before his death, so it is assumed that due to his advanced age, he willingly turned power over to his relatives.
