For Victory! is the 9th main quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II.
Synopsis[]
The time has finally come to deal with the bastards that ambushed us by the pond and killed our friends. It won't be long till we attack their lair and make sure none of those whoresons escape justice!
Walkthrough[]
Note that after you talk to Hans to attend the evening banquet here, you'll be locked in where you won't be able to do other side quests and you'll lose access to the Trosky region for awhile, so only talk to him when ready to move forward with the main storyline.
Once it's evening (20:00), go talk to Hans and you'll attend the banquet with him. As you talk with Otto von Bergow and Ulrich, you'll notice Katherine is also right there, serving wine. You have a speech check that you can answer, or choose to remain silent. Eventually von Bergow will reveal his plan: to attack Nebakov Fortress at dawn tomorrow, with Ulrich leading the assault on account of Captain Thomas still being ill and von Bergow expecting an important visitor to arrive.
Ulrich will then reveal his idea: a frontal assault, which obviously sounds like a bad idea and Hans will voice his disagreement. You can choose to remain silent or back Hans up on this (if you speak up, Hans will thank you later for some reputation gain). Regardless, von Bergow will insist he trusts Ulrich to handle the assault just fine and will dismiss you to enjoy yourselves.
Mingle with guests[]
At this point, you can talk around with others. With von Bergow, you can discuss the situation a bit more but nothing else comes out of it.
You'll likely also be immediately flagged down to the right by Bushek Dub and Hanko Goathead, who discuss the ambush at the pond. Eventually Hanko will invite you to play him at dice, when you can agree to for 110 .
Hans meanwhile is standing off to the side of the other table, away from the rest and will call to you to talk to him. He'll reveal he's not happy with the chamberlain, or the feast for that matter as it's all just for show and not actually getting anything done. Answer him how you wish before he advises you not to drink to be ready for the fight tomorrow, before he heads off.
Knights Jezhek and Olbram are standing between the two main tables and can be talked to to learn von Bergow paid a lot for something called the "Finger of God." However, neither has a clue what exactly it is, though he got it from Prague. They'll then remark how von Bergow seems to be doing well despite the war going on.
Black Bartosch is standing behind the table with Ulrich and von Bergow. As he's on duty, he can't drink, but will gladly discuss politics and the guests with you. Note if you're wanting to romance him, you need to ask about the local girls, where he'll insinuate he'd prefer Henry's company, then pass a medium speech check. If you accidentally selected that option but don't want any romance, you still have a chance to back out by noting you'd rather not. Otherwise, let him know you'd like to meet up later that night with him. When you've done all you've wanted for the night, return to him to let him know and they'll spend the night together and cut to the morning.
Johanka is a young widow and nobleman situated between Father Nicodemus and Erazim at the table opposite von Bergow. Note that depending how you want the night to go (and with who), don't engage in conversation with her until you've done all other objectives. Otherwise, if you don't wish to have a fling with her, feel free to talk to her at any time.
She'll have a a speech check that has a medium, easy, and hard option, respectively. Continue your story how you wish until it turns to the bailiff, where you should then pick "The Bailiff was right to punish us" as she'll then invite you to escort her outside for a bit. There, she'll be glad you got her away from the old men and then opens up the option to have a fling or not. If you choose the fling, this will immediately go into Henry spending the night with her and cut to the morning. Otherwise, you can turn her down and she'll be ok with that as well.
Hermann Littlehead is standing at the other table, who you can talk to and he'll reveal he wants to play a joke on another knight there, Florian, to get even for an earlier prank Florian pulled on Hermann. If you agree, he'll instruct you to go get Florian's ring, which is in his quarters in the Crone tower and off limits.
If you do this, it's relatively easy, just bear in mind that it's considered a private area from the scribe's chambers and up, and there's two guards that patrol around here. Florian's chest is in the first room on the very top floor, against the opposite wall. Loot it for the ring and then head back to the feast with it and let Hermann know. He'll then direct you to present it to the young woman on Florian's right, Adleta of Straz.
Talk to Adleta and tell her it's from "a shy friend" to set off the older woman on Florian's left, Mareta of Bor, who'll call out Florian for cheating. Go let Hermann know the deed is done and he'll reward you with a Weak Saviour Schnapps and The Strength of the Knight III.Get the armour[]
Go see Osina, who's working late in his forge. However, he'll tell you he has nothing left, as the other knights already cleaned him out earlier. With a medium speech check though you can get him to cough up a weapon and some armour for Hans. Otherwise you'll need to pay him or find another way to get the items. If you got the items, he'll give you a common longsword, Saxon plate legs, Noble's gauntlets, Saxon bascinet, and Smooth cuirass.
Get the wine[]
Head into the Maiden tower kitchen and talk to Manyeta on where to find Katherine to get the requested wine. At Katherine's name, Manyeta will insist she'll get it herself, as Katherine seems to have disappeared. While she does though, she'll ask you to unlock the herbs chest which, like the spice one, gets stuck a lot. This medium-locked chest is in the kitchen, in the small corner near some shelves and a table.
Once lockpicked and opened, let Manyeta know and she'll give you the wine for Capon.
Go to sleep[]
Once you've done all you've wanted for this quest's objectives, at this point either go to your own bed next to the forge or, if you're opting for a fling with Bartosch or Johanka, approach them with the right dialogue, which will then cut to the morning.
Marching out[]
The following morning, go talk to Hans, who'll automatically be given the wine. For weapon and armor though, you'll have to select all the pieces you want to give him. Once everything is handed over, go mount up and follow him out, where you can give your own input on a couple points before they meet up with Ulrich and Bartosch at the gates.
A cutscene will then play out as the army heads out for all the region to see, and into the ravine forest area. As Ulrich talks with you and Hans, a sudden blast is heard, killing a soldier in front of you and knocking down a tree behind you, preventing any retreat that way. Hans will eventually help you back to your feet, and you'll then have to help fight off bandits to try and get to Ulrich. When you find the chamberlain, he's pinned under his horse and Hans will try to get him out. However, no matter what you do here, in the end Ulrich will be killed. With no other choice, continue to follow Hans down the path, taking out bandits as you go.
Eventually you reach a spot where the bandits also blocked off the road further south so instead, crouch and go under the fallen tree to the right to get around this. More bandits will be at the top of this area. Past them, several more groups remain, including several archers near the mill. After they're dead, continue to follow Hans until you reach a small stream cutting across the road for another cutscene where Hans gets knocked out briefly and the bandit's leader approaches, remarking they'll get a nice ransom for Hans. Eventually the leader will duel you to see what you got. After a few hits, Henry will slash the man's left eye, causing another cutscene where the other bandits step in to prevent you from killing their leader before they proceed to hang some of the soldiers from a nearby tree.
Godwin[]
A small cutscene plays out with Godwin, who's now arrived in the area. After a short conversation with the innkeeper Lawrence at Zhelejov Wagoners' Inn, he'll be directed to where the massacre occurred, as well as some people he can talk to that escaped from the mill before cutting to the the next main quest to find Henry and Hans.

Notes[]
- Rather amusingly, if you talked to Hans before Johanka, at one point as Henry tells her what happened in Troskowitz with Hans, it'll cut to where Hans was standing in the room. However, it only shows an empty wall area as he leaves the feast after you talk to him.
- Any armor and weapons Henry gives to Hans during this mission won’t be used or equipped, as Hans has his own unique armor set and longsword. To avoid wasting valuable items, it’s best to give him low-quality gear. It only affects his reaction.
