Farmer Bauer, along with his wife, belongs to the Waldensian religion, and is considered to be a heretic by the Catholic Church.
Biography[]
The Bauers had only recently moved to Uzhitz, and were known as very charitable people, although they did not linger long in church. During Waldensians, Henry is tasked with finding the heretic sect, and manages to determine that the Bauers are secret Waldensians.
Knowing that the Vicar is closing in on them, Henry eavesdrops as they decide what to do. Mistress Bauer is resolved to stay and be true to her faith, and if she is arrested, she will go quietly to her death, a peaceful martyr for the cause. Although she encourages her two farmhands to leave while there is still time, her husband wont consider leaving her.
Henry can decide whether to turn them over to the Vicar, or try to convince Mistress Bauer to flee along with her husband. If he stays, he will eventually be arrested and executed for heresy.
