If there's one thing I've learnt about silver, it's that it's got one special property - it never stinks!
- Christian of Pisek

Sir Christian of Pisek is a brother of the former mint master and lord of Suchdol, Peter of Pisek. Christian is the steward of the royal mint in the Italian Court and the main ally in Henry's investigation against the current mint master - Ulrich Vavak.

Biography[]

In his quest to free Hans Capon, Henry's path led to an investigation into Ulrich Vavak's scheme to steal and counterfeit the king's silver. He was aided by Christian of Pisek, Vavak's direct subordinate. Christian wanted the Mint Master office for himself, but Vavak secured it first thanks to his connection with King Sigismund. As a result, Christian had a personal interest in seeing the investigation succeed.

He and Sir Kunzlin Ruthard started the investigation but it was left to Henry to carry it through. With the password provided by Ruthard - "via argentum" - Henry proved his allegiance and Christian shared what little he had uncovered so far. Though his findings were limited, he promised Henry his full support, laid out a plan for further investigation, and provided a letter of safe conduct to access the mines.

Later Henry and Christian discussed the outcome of his investigation among the miners and it became apparent the trail of stolen silver lead to the smelting operation in Grund. Christian wrote a letter to the smelter's owner Buresh of Krakovitz, introducing Henry as a wealthy nobleman interested in starting his own smelter. He also advised Henry on how best to approach the cautious Buresh.

After uncovering the criminal network the Royal Mint Master has created, through which he diverted a part of the royal share to the secret mint, Henry returned with the evidence to Christian. The steward was astonished by the audacity of the scheme and proposed that they continue to make use of it. Everything would stay the same only there would be a change in the management. Henry could choose to accept or refuse the offer.

If Henry accepts the offer:

With the mutually beneficial arrangement agreed upon, Henry became several hundred groschen richer and gained an influential ally.

If Henry refuses the offer:

Christian cursed Henry, and they parted on rather bitter terms.
